Dustbound is made by Ingenium Software Engineering. This page is about what the app and dustbound.app do with your information.

In short

Your checklist lives on your phone. We don’t ask you to create an account, and we don’t upload what you’ve Collected or Mastered. Pairing is optional — if you use it, we keep just enough to help you find other players and, after you both say yes, share Epic usernames with each other.

What stays on your phone

Dustbound is built to work without us holding a copy of your progress.

• Your checklist — which Collectibles you’ve marked Collected or Mastered.
• Your settings — things like Event reminder choices and timezone.
• A local copy of the catalog — so the list still works when you’re offline.

If you back up your phone, that backup may include Dustbound data. That’s your device, not us.

The app also downloads the public catalog and Events list so checklists stay current. Those downloads don’t include your progress.

Event reminders, if you turn them on, are scheduled on your device. We don’t send those from our servers.

Pairing

Pairing is how you find other Dustbound players to help each other obtain Collectibles — trading or indexing, in the language Fortnite players already use.

You don’t have to use it. If you never set up a Pairing profile, none of this section applies.

How it works

You create a Pairing profile on your phone: a display name, your region and timezone (so we can match you with people in a similar place and time), and your Epic username.

From there you can post what you need help with, or look through other people’s requests and offer to help. When two of you line up on the same Collectible, you both confirm. Only then do you see each other’s Epic username, so you can find one another in-game. Afterward you mark how it went — that’s how Reputation is built.

What we use to make that work

• Display name, region, timezone, and whether you’re open to Pairing — so other players can find you and so matching makes sense.
• Help requests — which Collectible you need, whether it’s a trade or an index, and enough status to keep the request moving.
• Reputation — a score from how Pairings closed, shown on Pairing screens.

The app also has a private install key so this copy of Dustbound can act as you, without an account. We don’t keep a usable copy of that key.

Your Epic username

Your Epic username stays readable on your phone. When you save your Pairing profile, we also store an encrypted copy so a later match can unlock. We can’t read that copy on our own.

The other player sees your Epic username only after you both confirm. Until then, they see your display name — not the name they’d search for in Fortnite.

What other players see

Before you both confirm: your display name, and enough about the request to decide whether to help. After you both confirm: your Epic username.

Leaderboards use your display name and Pairing scores. They’re off unless you turn them on.

Pairing alerts

You can get a ping when something happens on a request you’re part of — someone offering help, a confirm waiting, or a Pairing that just closed. That’s optional, and you can turn it off in Settings.

Keeping and deleting Pairing data

We keep Pairing data only as long as it’s needed to run matching and history. To ask us to delete it, email [email protected]. Clearing the app or uninstalling Dustbound removes what’s on your phone; it doesn’t automatically erase what Pairing already stored for matching.

Your checklist still stays on your phone, even if you use Pairing.

What we don’t collect

No Dustbound account. No ads. No analytics from us. We don’t ask for your photos, contacts, precise location, or microphone. Buying the app is handled by Google Play or the App Store — their checkout, their rules.

This website

There is no signup list or newsletter. The store buttons are ordinary links to Google Play and the App Store.

If you write through the Support page, Formspreedelivers that message — your email and what you wrote — so we can reply. SeeFormspree’s Privacy Policy. To ask us to delete a support message, email[email protected].

We don’t set our own cookies and we don’t use analytics. See the cookie policy. The Events list loads the public catalog and sprite artwork from GitHub Pages. Whoever hosts the site may see the usual connection details any website sees when a page loads.

Children

Dustbound isn’t aimed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them.

If we change this

We’ll update the date at the top. The current version always lives at dustbound.app/privacy.
